Does my policy cover me while using my personal vehicle for Uber or other car sharing concerns?

Most likely not.

The personal auto policy Exclusion: “We do not provide Liability Coverage for any “insured” Or that insured’s liability arising out of the ownership or operation of a vehicle while it is beings used as a public or livery conveyance. (This does not include car pooling arrangements).

This means no liability or physical damage coverage to your vehicle if you are using your vehicle for car sharing. The car sharing concern may provide some liability coverage for any damage to someone else’s property or injuries to passengers.  What about your vehicle damage and is their liability enough to protect you if you are sued?

Call your agent BEFORE pursuing this venture.   Some companies may endorse the standard policy to allow this coverage, however they are few.
